[Fantasia '24] The film has an excellent design that takes elements of traditional aesthetics, with influences from architecture, craftsmanship and Chinese opera. This world of fairies that accompany the objects has such an ambitious visual richness that it is sometimes too overwhelming. In the narrative part, it manages to effectively combine the style of ancient Chinese fables with a moral with a more Westernized way of telling a story, through the prominence of female characters both in the representation of beauty and in the symbolism of war.
