So extremely bad. So extremely boring. They are trying to figure out who the spy is amongst them, but since we are not vested in the characters, who cares?? It's an 1.5 hours of boring dialogue, mostly indoors. I don't necessarily need action in a movie, but this was terrible. It seems like people like to pretend they liked it, as it makes them seem intellectual, but secretly hated it, like the rest of us.
If Mr & Mrs Smith was Checkers, this is Chess. Soderberg avoids a cliched pop hits structure and goes for jazz... slow burn, layers of skilled liars and trying to figure out who, if anyone, you can trust and what are clues, and what aren't. Plays out a little like a six in the room whodunnit including a comedy of manners dinner party, minus the comedy. Some soft focus and long edits add to a mood and style. Not a film you can scroll on the phone through but a satisfying meal rather than takeaways.
Completely fine but not really for me and I think Fassbender is so dull. Some dude was snoring in the theater for half the movie
It hurts seeing such a dull movie coming from a talented director and cast.
Surprisingly good. What a joy to finally have a short (well, normal length) movie for once. There were no mega surprises but one still wondered if there maybe were lots of double and triple crossings.
