Almost a decade later, this is still a very entertaining and important movie. Sure, some aspects like the depiction of Tahitians and the jingoism (that prevails after questioned thoroughly) are maybe questionable but I can excuse this. It's an old movie after all. Same is true for the score: but there wasn't anything other but orchestral music back then. But the actors are great, the character development is great and the story is great. Even better because it's a true story. I'm impressed by the effort and money they invested. This ship feels authentic and the original location in the Pacific make it still look better than most modern FX-plagued movies.

This first major movie on the subject is to my mind still the best yet. Laughton portrays brilliantly the sadistic Bligh while Gable Is brilliant in portraying Christian, torn between duty and humanity. A classic, difficult to surpass even after 90 years. Bravo

Wonderful film, although it drags a bit at times during the island sequences. The ship sequences are often top-notch, though, with great performances from the two leads. Genuinely thrilling to see the full-scale ship in action, and the same can be said for all the location shooting.

Clark Gable and Charles Laughton are both very good. Some of the shots on the ship are really impressive. The stuff on the ship is much more interesting then the stuff on land.
