Loosely based on the novella that Charles Dickins wrote for his children, _The King of Kings_ is an animated telling of the life of Jesus. In fact, the film uses Charles Dickins telling the story to one of his children as a framing devise with them moving in and out of the story as Dickins brings it to life. The animation is rather interesting; having a Claymation/marionette feel with its rigid lines and movements. Additionally, the film features an all-star cast that includes Kenneth Branagh, Mark Hamill, Pierce Brosnan Oscar Isaac, Forest Whitaker, and Uma Thurman. However, the storytelling is a bit weak at times and can be a little confusing. Yet while it has some problems, overall _The King of Kings_ is an entertaining film with a powerful message.

Angel Studios lands another broad distribution through AMC theaters with this star-studded cast of voices. Be aware. This is not a Hollywood secular film, it is a religious film that would normally make its way to your church youth group's library shelf.

I liked the work of animation and the editing during some of the first scenes. The script may have some problems, but kids will enjoy it.

To learn about Christ, I go to the church. I reserve cinemas for more fantastic stuff.
