_Unsinkable_ is a captivating historical drama about the American inquest into the Titanic disaster. Based on a play, the story follows US Senator William Alden Smith as he leads an investigation into how the “unsinkable” RMS _Titanic_ struck an iceberg and sank, resulting in the deaths of over 1,500 passengers and crew. Starring Cotter Smith, Fiona Dourif, Jayne Wisener, and Karen Allen, the film has a pretty good cast that gives strong performances. And, the writers do an impressive job at creating political intrigue as the investigation unfolds (though the World War I subplot seems a bit strange). Also, the costumes and sets are especially well-done; giving the film an authentic look and feel for the time period. It has a few problems, but overall _Unsinkable_ is a fascinating look at one of the lesser known chapter of the Titanic story.
