They spent some production money on that castle. This was much more about family, and I didn't connect with it. The bagpipes gave me a headache.
Lacey Chabert and Scott Wolf star in the Hallmark holiday film _A Merry Scottish Christmas_. When an estranged brother and sister travel to Scotland to spend Christmas with their mother, they discover a family secret that changes their lives. Both Chabert and Wolf give solid performances, and the writers do a nice job at making the relationships feel authentic. Additionally, the production crews do an impressive job at creating a picturesque Scottish village and countryside. However, the plot couldn’t be more formulaic and predictable. And a couple of the magical Christmassy moments come off as forced. Yet while it has its problems, _A Merry Scottish Christmas_ is entertaining and has a positive message about family reconciliation.
We couldn't help but laugh everytime Brad said 'Mum'.. When the actor playing her was clearly younger! Is it really that difficult to find a relevant aged Scottish actor?! Scott Wolf is clearly a brilliant addition to the Hallmark movies but this is a bit wishy washy TBH. Oh, and Sallingers bar .. haha! nice touch!
