A lot of potential in the premise and it did keep my interest throughout. Unfortunately,the reveal is anticlimactic and the film lacks a satisfying conclusion.Banks gives a rivetting lead performance.

The trailer promised a wacky thriller but what we got is a drama with a slight thriller twist in the last 20 minutes. For what it's worth I did enjoy the 'save the business' storyline and the rivalry between the two businesses but it's very unsatisfying and generic with the thriller elements. Not nearly enough glamour and obsession over beauty. Don't get me wrong, this isn't a bad looking movie but for a movie centered on beauty and aesthetics the visuals are pretty bland, something like this needs to go crazy with the visuals, camerawork and performances. Didn't buy the studio office, doesn't look rich enough for the number one skincare company in Hollywood. In fact, not a single frame of this movie looks anything like Hollywood. I really liked the main character though and Elizabeth Banks was a good casting choice, I expected the script to give her more to do but she did good with what she had. Cool needle drops. Simple but effective tense score. The twist for the culprit was so obvious i'm questionning if it was even meant as a twist. Very weak and unsatisfying third act, the final fight was barely a squabble. I'm disappointed overall, the premise sounded like easy fun but it needed better execution all around.

Look at the thriller movie, how do they manage to make it worse when they say they can never do anything worse? There are two boutique shops. One belongs to the lead character, the other one belongs to someone who tries to sabotage their business. Where exactly is the thriller in this? I thought a lot and decided: What a bad movie. I watched it out of curiosity to see what would happen in the end. Anyway, thanks for your efforts anyway.

The first half of this movie had my full attention and interest. I was so intrigued to where this was going, but then it just got messy fast. I found myself losing interest for all the characters and didn’t care who it worked out for in the end. Overall, it’s an okay watch for Elizabeth Banks, her acting is incredible as always and she looks like a boss bitch. If the film had been more of a darker thriller, I feel I would’ve enjoyed this a lot more. That ending was such a letdown

An interesting story with an amusing vibe foiled by a muddled and bland script. The journey was enough fun but never as fun as it could have been, but by the ending nothing came together and i was left wondering what even happened and what was the point of any of it. The trailer made it look so unhinged but it was quite vanilla. Not a horrible movie by any means but not great. Would rather have waited for VOD for this.
