I had high hopes. Especially with this cast. Sadly the plot was predictable.

This wasn’t terrible but by no means was it good. Second rate script with a cast full of third rate actors. The whole story is really shallow and all the actors look like they’re trying to copy things they’ve seen other decent actors do but just not pulling it off. So many of the lines are just cliche and / or totally cringeworthy, just about everybody is totally miscast. The ease with which everyone that this loser P.I. encounters simply pour their story out to him without having any reason whatsoever to do so is just unbelievable. 3/10 at most.

Dear people, let me tell you, I've watched tons of movies over many years and I didn't always like all of them. But in the dozens of comments over the years, the same ==grumblers== keep popping up, just like here! _They check the ending after a quarter of playtime, they pick apart every plot like a director and they would rewrite the story_.... **Don't let them put you off!** It's a detective thriller and they investigate step by step until the finale! and JGL made a real good job! If you like this kind of movie, you've come to the right place and you can expect several twists at the end... a solid classic story ` 7/10`

This was _terrible_. There was absolutely nothing redeeming about it. This is the second or third "noir" film that's been made in recent years that seems to have been crafted by those who had never seen a noir film before. Joseph Gordon-Levitt was awful in this. If I didn't know it was him, I would've assumed that they'd hired someone off the street to do this job. I don't know if he was playing down the material or what was going on, but it was difficult to watch. Shailene Woodley was good, but she had little-to-nothing to work with, so it made no difference. I don't know why she was slumming in this. Her talents could've been put to better use in so many other projects. The story was neither interesting nor entertaining, and the ending was telegraphed from the next county over. This was a complete miss, and I hope that those who wrote it study up before embarking on their next project.

If you have time, watch it, if not, don't even go near it. I looked for a branch to hold on to to watch but I couldn't find it, they made it very simple. Very boring
