Could have been 90% sweatier. Love the scuzzy characters, and Bogie is the coolest as always. 1948 (21st) Academy Award nominations: Best Actress in a Supporting Role (Claire Trevor - Winner)
"When your head says one thing and your whole life says another, your head always loses." Key Largo is another solid John Huston, Humphrey Bogart collaboration, add Lauren Bacell into a small role and let Edward G. Robinson steal the show and you have a recipe for good time. I'm usually never let down by films directed by Huston and starring Bogart so I always go in with higher expectations and yes, they've met it. The story mostly takes place in a hotel but the build the tension up very nicely towards a great finale on the boat Santana. It has charm, a fight, a shoot-out and the presence of some legendary actors. If you haven't seen Key Largo yet, check it out!
Cinema Paco 2 image 3,5/5 and sound 3/5. Humphrey Bogart, Edward G. Robinson, Lauren Bacall, Lionel Barrymore directed by John Huston, is it necessary to say more?
