It was a decent take on the good vs evil angle. I kind of wish we would have gotten to see the kids grow up a bit though.

Deliver Us is a fascinating example of a movie where the filmmaking is often much stronger than the story it is telling. The movie looks fantastic. The old monastery setting is perfect: isolated, ancient, and filled with a natural sense of dread. The filmmakers make excellent use of the location, creating a creepy atmosphere that almost feels like the building itself is a character. The camera work is also impressive, with some creative choices that add to the unease. The body horror elements are especially effective. The movie knows how to make the audience uncomfortable without relying only on cheap scares. There is something genuinely disturbing about the physical transformation and the religious imagery surrounding it. The premise itself is fascinating and probably guaranteed to upset some members of the Catholic Church. A story involving prophecy, demons, the Antichrist, and challenges to religious beliefs is always going to be controversial. Unfortunately, the movie raises many interesting questions but doesn't always know what to do with them. That is the biggest weakness: the story. There are so many opportunities to explore the mythology, the characters, and the deeper religious themes, but the script often settles for confusion instead of complexity. It feels like there was a much better movie hiding underneath this one. Some choices also felt unnecessary, including the use of nudity, which occasionally distracted more than it added. Overall, Deliver Us is a beautifully made horror film with strong atmosphere, memorable imagery, and impressive visual style. Unfortunately, the story cannot match the quality of the filmmaking. It is a movie that makes you admire the craftsmanship while wishing the writers had given it the same level of attention.

I thought the concept and premise was good but the ending was very underwhelming. I didn’t hate the movie but I also felt inclined to watch it when it was on my screen. Definitely interesting to say the least.

This definitely goes somewhere, just not anywhere I'd want to go. I'm not sure why I thought this Omen-esque story would be any good, but I did, and now here I am disappointed once again. Have I finally learned my lesson? We'll see.
