[Filmin] A fairly conventional take on friendship films between two girls from different social classes, it addresses loss, religious influence, family, and so many other themes that it ends up being rather scattered. It improves when it focuses on the friendship between Elena and Serezade, through a kind of fantasy-tinged tale set in the countryside, but it still doesn't quite fit this relationship into the context of the other perspectives it seeks to address. It stands out in its reflection of childhood innocence, but fails in the stereotypes of the adult world.
