The good news is that we are getting close to the point where we can have movies about families that include members that might be gay, trans, etc, and their differences aren't the point of the movie (admittedly, we have a LONG way to go in this area).   The bad news is that these films can be just as mediocre as any other film.  This film didn't have much to offer, and I had forgotten about it before the credits finished.   follow me at https://IHATEBadMovies.com or facebook IHATEBadMovies

Winner of best film at San Sebastián and Changemaker at Toronto. I saw it at TIFF. I suppose kudos for being a movie about a normal yet dysfunctional trans family by a trans person. It was a bit of a snooze-fest to be honest which if 10 years into the future would’ve just been a b rated Sunday Night family movie but because it’s about a family with a trans kid it’s artsy and is pushing boundaries. The overbearing Italian mother was more of the story. The daughters were whiners and faux rebellious. Blah, blah, blah. My cousin is one of actor’s so I won’t give it a bad number rating but won’t lie either … I nearly fell asleep in a theatre filled with my family.
