Amazingly animated movie with a non-original story. How many times have I seen similar ones? A lot. Those 3 super natural beings annoyed the hell outta me sometimes and a slow pacing may be a drag for somebody (personally I do not care). Still... Ghibli-esque feels are strong in this one. Very strong. I liked it.
A lovely stylized but in the end sluggish movie. The 3 monsters aren't really interesting and don't offer comic relief either. They could easily have shaved of 30mins while still offering everything it offered in it's current form. If your looking for a slow anime story with little to no plot... This might be for you. It's definitely not bad.. Just not good either.
‘A Letter to Momo’ is one of those films that makes you have a good time, but that may not stay with you forever. It is touching and funny in equal parts, with that warm and familiar touch that makes it perfect to watch with children or, why not, to enjoy in a quiet afternoon. The character design is fairly simple, but the animation is so well crafted that it manages to convey a lot of life. In fact, some of the village scenes are so realistic that they seem to have been taken directly from real life. But while it has its moments, it's not a film that leaves a lasting impression. In fact, while watching it I had that feeling of déjà vu; I'm convinced I'd seen it before, but had completely forgotten about it.
