Norbert is a 350 year old vampire, who has never bitten anyone yet. His parents aren't happy and send him to Japan to find a pure blooded, good family woman to bite and marry. But his ship crashes on a small island. Only he and the family servant survive. This is an absurd comedy. There is a bit of gore too, specially in the end. In a funny way, but still gore (removed entrails, cut fingers, pierced eyes, and lots of blood spraying). Lots of jokes about stuff that people would qualify as woke this days, often by pushing it to absurd extremes. The funny gore is great, if you like this kind of thing. And lots more to enjoy if you're into absurd humor. Can't say much about actor performances, their dialogues often sound more like theater than cinema. Except Pascal Legitimus that offers a grandiose performance, culminating in his torture scene. The professor's monologues are also a highlight of the movie, as well as the cult leaders. In the end, still wondering if the girl is pure blooded enough (and so whether [spoiler]Norbert's family dies as it is said in the intro[/spoiler]). I also might have missed something. At some point they're bringing back Marie to put her in his coffin, that is the goal, it is said. But then they seem to just put her there, and remove him to bring him back to the clinic. I don't think there's any explanation on that.
