A romantic comedy about two best friends who love each other -- in slightly different ways. After numerous failed attempts to become popular, the girls are mistakenly outed as lesbians, which launches them to instant celebrity status. Seduced by their newfound fame, Karma and Amy decide to keep up their romantic ruse.

Best show on MTV right now which is not saying MUCH, but at least something!
The premise may seem bad, but it is actually super fun. I enjoy this show overall. However it would be foolish to whitewash all it's problems away because it is enjoyable. The whole "straight girls are only pretending to gay for attention" thing is problematic but the girls in the show know it is bad, though they are still foolish teens and do it anyway. The biggest issue with it is that the characters are publicly "outed" against their will, by another gay character (who should really know better). This is super-not okay, and nobody is ever called out for this or told off. Maybe it'll get addressed later. Probably not. Plus something about Amy's obsession with television and hatred of all she meets very relatable, for some reason. Love it.
did the word bisexual exist when this show was airing?
this isn't offensive. it doesn't promote homophobic ideas. the only characters portrayed in a negative light are the homophobic ones. people need to get over the premise because that's not all it is. it's nice to see a show portraying the feelings i had that isn't making everything doom and gloom. plus it's cute as fuck one of the girls does struggle with her sexuality. so if you read the premise and think it's offensive i'd say give it a chance. i thought it sounded dumb when i first heard about it too.
once upon a time this was my fav show. rip :(
