When 14 year old genius Luke Ellis is kidnapped, he awakens at The Institute, a facility full of children who all got there the same way he did, and who are all possessed of unusual abilities. In a nearby town, haunted former police officer Tim Jamieson has come looking to start a new life, but the peace and quiet won’t last, as his story and Luke’s are destined to collide.

Oh, what's this? A series based on a novel from an absolute creep of an author who has an unhealthy pre-occupation with writing about child orgies along with the abuse and torture of children generally? Nevermind, I'm sure he must have taken one of his days off to occasionally write about something else; I'll just check the plot synopsis on wiki.....oh. Still, it sounds like a dull, rote and basic adaptation that takes no creative/artistic risks or liberties whatsoever. I'm sure King will adore it.
Promising, but if one has any childhood related mental health issues, maybe give this a miss. Im going to continue, and only time will tell if this sends me back for therapy.
Based on the first 2 episode, this second adaptation of King's novel was running at slower pace, being a TV series. The first unofficial (or stolen idea) was the 2020 New Mutants. Because pf the New Mutants, The Institute became a bit paler in comparison and slow, so slow even cooking eggs are an explosive action. If it went too slow and it would be a snore fest. We'll see how it goes with Season 1. UPDATED REVUEW AFTER 8 EPISODES OF SEASON 1. This is extreme lefties' CIA's wet dreams. They want to prevent people who would made disastrous worldwide event by killing them before they made the disastrous decisions by using children with telekinetics and telepathics ability to eliminate those armageddon's doers, meanwhile they used the children to find a rare child who has precognitive ability. The activation of abilities in children was done in extreme condition, torturing the children mentally and physically using physical, psychological and chemical torturous methods, most children died and became the fuel for the institute's facility, which is the horror aspects of this story. King is known to be a liberal lefty. This idea was started in late 2010s, published as a novel in 2019. The idea was used for a based story of The New Mutants in 2020, while The Institute became mini series in 2025. I bet there's a deal made coz The Intitute tells how far government and people in power will do to prevent poeple like Hitler to become world's disaster. Remember the question, will you kill baby Hitler if you can go back im time? The Institute ask 'will you kill baby Hitler IF you find out he would destroy the world and millions of people. The scary part, this is a based on reality horror. The disgusting part, those in power decided that it is worth to throw their lives to hell by destroying children's lives. The demonic reality, these demonic people in power would tell themselves anything that they try to do good if they could keep their life style and stay in power. For example the assassination of JFK, MLK, TK and C Kirk. The question is do you agree with the argument? My answer is we don't know the future, let it develop as it is. Don't play god, coz the true God will eradicate us if we do. Future villains can be avoided if people lives in prosperity and peace. Future villains thrive in chaotic and heavily manipulated condition. If you have the right mindset, The Intitute will be a warning of the danger of people in power manipulated regular people. If you have been brainwashed, The Intitute is THE TRIGGER to take action and kill those who they thought will cause armageddon. Lunacy is not virtue, lunacy is mental sickness. Not recommended. And FU King.
Something I've learned is that reading these reviews shouldn't determine whether or not you watch a show. There's a handful of people saying how bad the show is and do not watch it. Honestly I enjoyed the show, that's my personal opinion. Don't let negative reviews steer you away from any shows you actually might end up liking.
Definitely, the worst thing I have seen in a while. Maybe ever. So happy that I had installed Solitaire on my phone.
