The story of a clash that defined the future of a country and a continent for a thousand years. Harold of Wessex and William of Normandy were two men destined to meet at the Battle of Hastings in 1066. These two former allies with no design on the British throne found themselves forced by circumstance and personal obsession into a war for possession of its crown.

Cheaply made rubbish. The costumes were particularly bad, chain-mail obviously made of knitted string sprayed silver....Lead actors miscast and unconvincing, battle scenes constantly shrouded in mist to hide the cheap production values. Give this one a miss!
Emma of Normandy died of old age quietly in Winchester, not beaten to death by Edward the Confessor. What utter nonsense this series is...
This show is really cool and absolutely deserves more attention. The story is gripping and mostly faithful to the real events around the Battle of Hastings, with plenty of action to keep you hooked. Costumes and sets feel authentic to the 11th century, which makes the whole experience even more immersive.
Boring, this is just boring. Can’t even finish episode 1.
If you're expecting to get a history lesson be advised the story plays fast and loose with the facts. Harold could really do with a good wash and if this was supposed to give an authentic look and feel maybe they should have blackened his teeth and given him a few spots!
