I wish people in Trakt land (and internet in general) would stop hating on things. Before the show even started properly, someone made sure to rate it the lowest from 4 different accounts. How mature, wow. You know dear Hater, I could also make like 10 different accounts to counteract your 1s with 10s, but alas I actually have a life so... ANYWAY, here's a 10 from me in advance, if anything - Rowoon's beautiful face deserves it, without even taking into consideration the rest (how funny his character is, or how cute and cool the female lead is).
Kinda boring tbh. Also, I don't think the lightheartedness and comedic bits meshed well with all the murder plots. The "reality TV"/Fourth-wall-breaking type interviews at the beginning of the episodes were also a very odd choice. I wish this would have been either cute and silly, or emotional and dramatic, mixing the two took away from both extremes an ended up producing something that felt lukewarm and cheapened.
This gave me a good chuckle multiple times. The comedy was the highlight, and found myself fast forwarding through most slow moments so I could return to the humor. I enjoyed the run around of matchmaking simultaneously being constant mishaps but also eventually settling on equalized pairings. I really enjoyed having so many romantic pairings to cheer for. Frequently Rowoon’s character felt overly cheesy when grabbing his heart, but I loved the balanced character he settled into at the tail end. Gosh I love Maeng Doo-ri’s exuberance enormously. And I found myself nodding to the elegance & maturity of a child monarch—he brought so much grace to the part. Castings really were so perfect for everybody.
I loved the chemistry between Rowoon and Cho Yi-hyun ; they bickered and then loved naturally . They have shown that you can recover from a loss of True love with another equally without forgetting old love. The matchmaking was fun ; the lack of blood thirsty revenge make is more entertaining and suspense in each episode is enough to thrill the wait for next weekend. i would like to see more of these lighter Saeguks than the bloodbath ones with one trick plot lines. The only discomfort in the show is the matching between eldest Maeng Ha-na
who likes like 30yrs old and the crown prince who looks like a 11 yr old
not that there was anything intimitate between them and it was purely political .
