Terrific show, Great performances, especially Travis Fimmel, great cinematography, great angles and tension building with a few instruments (not overloaded) Hope we get a season 2. Cheers mate and happy new year 2023 !
Just started watching this. I’m pretty sure that judging from the first scene with the girl riding a beach cruiser in her nightgown this is going to be stupid and bad. The second scene with our hero begging someone to beat him is ridiculous. Cinematography is poor. The two tracks they’ve played so far have been terrible. Another stupid scene with lady standing in front of corn field with the sound of train going by… then stupid mom daughter prayer scene. Whoever filmed this needs to go back to film school most of the shots are backlit and you can barely see the actors faces. Some of the audio is so bad it seems like it’s dubbed. More cheesy bad (aboriginal?) music. Twenty minutes in and I think I’ll leave it on. I was looking for something to play in the background and this fits the bill. So I finished it. Not a very interesting mystery. It was watchable but if you have better things to do you can easily skip it, I hope this is not the best sample of aboriginal music because it was all really awful.
[Filmin] Introduces an investigation resumed thirty years later based on new investigations, with a conventional structure of parallel plots in the present and the past. In reality, it never completely avoids the traditional path (family traumas for the police agent, racism against indigenous Australians, false culprits...) which progressively leads to an absolute lack of interest. Characterless performances and flat technical aspects don't help, even though he tries to make social comments that are so obvious as to be harmless.
The only good thing about this show is Fimmel if you are a fan of his then do watch… but don’t expect to be gripped
I couldn't get through the first episode, it's boring, yet painfully transparent, the dialog is so bad that it's laughable, at this point I just don't know why Fimmel takes these shi*ty roles, he has insane potential and they put him in this boring sh*t and he actually accepts. Sorry but I can't even give it a rating, don't wanna paint people's future black by giving it a 1/10.
