'To be or not to be' tells the story of Joel, a 16-year-old trans teenager who dreams of becoming a great performer, while also facing the emotional challenges of his recently begun transition. It is a naturalistic series that addresses a highly current topic without prejudice and sheds light on the experiences of a group unknown to many or poorly understood by others. It aims to be a transformative series, which gives visibility and naturalizes with freshness and humor the ever-widening range of identities and gender expressions of today's young people.

[RTVE Play] Even if it is only for its open look at a diverse reality in terms of gender identities, this series is necessary. But also it's a fresh proposal that talks about recognizing oneself in order to be recognized by others. And it deals with the process of gender transition without the usual negative effects. It can be somewhat naive in its positivism, but sometimes the reality is less harsh than it seems.
