A little chaos is good for the gathering.
Hedda Gabler finds herself torn between the lingering ache of a past love and the quiet suffocation of her present life. Over the course of one charged night, long-repressed desires and hidden tensions erupt—pulling her and everyone around her into a spiral of manipulation, passion, and betrayal.

Was wrong to cast Tessa Thompson in a Henrik Ibsen's play. She looked ridiculous and out of character. Everything else, including the other cast members and production, was satisfactory.
Fantastic movie with a fantastic cast!! Tessa Thompson was deliciously evil!! I loved every moment of it. This film could have easily been made into a 2.5 hour affair, but I thoroughly appreciate it making the use of its more limited runtime. Everything was wrapped up succinctly and beautifully.
There it is again: my general aversion to films that feel very stagy. To be fair, "Hedda" does possess some cinematic qualities. Above all, despite its limited setting, it is visually diverse and has a certain grandeur. But the star of the show is clearly Tessa Thompson, who is thoroughly convincing as the scheming main character. And she also has solid chemistry with Nina Hoss as her counterpart. Personally, however, the story never really grabbed me, which brings us back to the staginess. Because the story is probably better suited to the stage. But for anyone who doesn't mind this film structure, "Hedda" is definitely worth a recommendation.
I just finished it and if you asked me what it's about, I wouldn't be able to tell you. Good costumes and production design, though.
I don’t know what i just watched
