It's love and murder at first sight!
An insurance representative is seduced by a dissatisfied housewife into a scheme of insurance fraud and murder that arouses the suspicion of his colleague, a claims investigator.

A great film noir, interesting characters and a good mystery plot.
I enjoyed myself a lot with Double Indemnity. A good balance between crime and mystery. I like the performances too. It’s a little goofy, but I don’t mind it. The love story in these classic movies are always so sudden and intense and I mean, it’s hardly the perfect murder if you close a policy and murder the guy in the exact way that is described in that policy two weeks later… Still, fun movie!
I'm working my way through Best Picture nominees and in 600+ films over 100 years, there's plenty of duds in the mix, but it's films like this that make the effort worth it. The story is tight and the characters are compelling, but the real winner here is the dialogue - 80+ years old and it still hits hard - so many clever/fun exchanges. Would definitely recommend this to anyone who's looking to dabble in older film.
Double Indemnity is a true classic. The script is intelligent, the directing is sharp, and the acting is superb. Truly one of the best that film noir has to offer.
A great noir film about murder and insurance fraud. I had wanted to see this ever since I saw _Fatal Instinct_ (1993) for the first time, which borrows heavily from the story, along with part of the dialog. Speaking of dialog, we get a lot of that here, and in typical 1940s fashion, it's fast, baby! Great pacing, loads of atmosphere. Overall just really good. Highly recommended if you're a fan of old noir films or just classic cinema.
