Always seen bits of this film on TV, but never watched it in full. I saw that this was recently back on TV so I thought I'd watch it in full, and I didn't regret it, I really enjoyed it from start to finish. Nice and light, funny, that's all there is to it to brighten up a dull, dark evening.

The Nutty Professor is one heck of a nostalgia trip. This is pure, unfiltered 90s comedy — loud, goofy, over-the-top, and built entirely around Eddie Murphy doing Eddie Murphy things at peak stardom. I’ve seen this more times than I can count, and revisiting it feels like flipping on a time capsule. Does it totally hold up? Not really. Some of the humor feels dated, some of the bits run a little long, and the style screams mid-90s studio comedy. But the Murphy family dinner scenes are still chaotic fun, and there’s something undeniably comforting about the entire package. It may not age gracefully across the board, but it makes me feel warm and cozy when watching it — and sometimes that’s what matters most. Rating: 2.5/5 – 70% – Worth Watching

A classic story that does not really work here with Eddie Murphy. He just tries too hard. Though not entirely terrible, I would rater recommend that you watch the much better 1968 version with Jerry Lewis.
