New animals. New adventures. Same hair.
Summoned from an ashram in Tibet, Ace finds himself on a perilous journey into the jungles of Africa to find Shikaka, the missing sacred animal of the friendly Wachati tribe. He must accomplish this before the wedding of the Wachati's Princess to the prince of the warrior Wachootoos. If Ace fails, the result will be a vicious tribal war.

This one is better than the first: higher budget, better gags, and Jim Carrey still at his best.
Three darts is too much.
"If you were me, then I'd be you, and I'd use *your* body to get to the top. You can't stop me no matter who you are!" Having just seen Cliffhanger, I never thought I would see the same scene in Ace Ventura: When Nature Calls. Brilliant stuff! We get more of Jim Carrey's shenanigans, we got more misses then hits compared to the first one, the story isn't that interesting, we get more of Spike, we get the hilarious, at least to me, scene were Jim Carrey crawls out of a mechanic Rhino's butt. That was all I remembered about the film from when I was young and I still died laughing. Although I still had a blast, this is by far the lesser film of the two. I still enjoyed it because of some nostalgic feelings but I guess why this isn't for anyone. You must have a thing for Jim Carrey's face gymnastics. But if you want some silly 90 minutes of fun, this could be the one for you.
In this case, the sequel was overall better than the first; although I rated them both at a 7. My only real gripe that I can immediately call to mind with this one was to do with the Wachati Princess.
It annoys me to see someone who is about to get married so casually decide to (secretly) have sexual relations with someone else and it not be conveyed as a negative thing. It did make it somewhat less offensive to me in that regard based on the fact that she was going into an arranged marriage, but still. Then, there at the very end of the movie they had to go and spread sexual misinformation; that's very common even today, probably because it's been portrayed on screen so much. You can't tell by looking at someone or by having sex with them whether or not they've had sex before.
Vet funny movie , like it
