Synopsis
Set on an island off the coast of New England in the summer of 1965, Moonrise Kingdom tells the story of two twelve-year-olds who fall in love, make a secret pact, and run away together into the wilderness. As various authorities try to hunt them down, a violent storm is brewing off-shore – and the peaceful island community is turned upside down in more ways than anyone can handle.

Stylistically gorgeous with great music and beautiful cinematography (dem colours) but the story and characters in particular were quite lacking.

I liked it, but it wasn't my type of movie. Some moments were funny, and it was interesting somehow. I just didn't really get what. That's why I'm not rating it, because I'm sure I missed something and didn't get something about it. Funny thing is though, that I rated all the movies under "if you like Moonrise Kingdom, check these movies out..." with a 8 or higher.
