One for all and all for France!
D'Artagnan, a spirited young Gascon, is left for dead after trying to save a noblewoman from being kidnapped. Once in Paris, he tries by all means to find his attackers, unaware that his quest will lead him to the very heart of a war where the future of France is at stake. Aided by King's Musketeers Athos, Porthos and Aramis, he faces the machinations of villainous Cardinal Richelieu and Milady de Winter, while falling in love with Constance, the Queen's confidante.
Avis de la communauté (11)
Let me remind you that Dumas was paid for the number of characters. The novel was not just a fascinating reading about the sword and honor, published in the newspaper. The author added details about politics and customs, clothes, life. Having created, what is already there, a masterpiece. Where everything is described in detail, the motivations of heroes, the intrigues of enemies, nobility and fencing fights, friendship and love. The film is like an adaptation for children, the new plot is absurdly remade and gallops, from a spectacular fight with the guards to an attempted coup and a sniper (!) With a musket, only a couple of dozen phrases are said. Why so? Perhaps I should praise the costumes and interiors. Not enough for an interesting spectacle.
Like a fun road trip, it's epic and long and moves along at such a good pace that you truly enjoy the ride. The Three Musketeers: D'Artagnan won't set any records for originality but everything else -- the cast, the directing, the scale -- work to make this grandiose effort prime entertainment.
wish this was dubbed in english
Loved the movie, was feeling weird as everything was dubbed in English. Had to put it back on French to get the best experience. I always love a good three musketeers story.
I liked it, well done, changes something with respect to the novels, 1 post-credits scene. Now to wait for the second part
