A road movie that starts at high speed and progressively runs out of gas. The director does not hide his tendency to cloying writing and develops it along a path of thanks and forgiveness when life ends. Wong Kar-Wai's presence as producer is surprising, but he brings little of his usual subtlety. The journey is wrapped in a soundtrack that sounds like something out of a cheesy mood playlist.
