From the synopsis, it felt like a light small-town marriage comedy kind of thing. And it pretty much stays there. Simple setup, characters with their own little insecurities, expectations around marriage, and it builds from that. Some moments genuinely work, especially the awkwardness between the leads, it feels natural at times. But then it also slows down too much, and you start feeling the drag. Humor is very hit or miss. When it lands, it’s nice, when it doesn’t, it just passes. It’s not trying to do anything big, just a small, easy film, works in parts, doesn’t in others.
