The show "The Last Cop" was a bit shallow, but it had its heart in the right place and benefited greatly from the charm of leading man Henning Baum. The decision to produce a film with the same actors in the main roles (but in questionable alternative pairings), which is not a continuation of the series but a remake, is somewhat bizarre. The tone is also very different and rather unpleasant. The main character, Mick, is largely unsympathetic, and the humor is also truly awful and quite spiteful. Ultimately, you have to wonder who the film is actually meant for. It's unlikely to appeal to fans of the series. The acting is poor, which is no surprise when you bring actors like Ralf Moeller on board. But Baum isn't great here either, and the script is a disaster. In any case, the reasons for the series' success were clearly not understood. The bottom line is that "The Last Cop" is nothing more than a lousy film.
