Darcy has always worked hard to prove herself and be successful on her own terms, even choosing to start her own company, rather than work with her father. Returning to her hometown for Christmas, Darcy reconnects with an old rival, restaurant owner Luke, and they are forced to plan a charity event together. As Darcy spends time with her family and Luke, she starts to realize what matters most in life and sets out to mend her relationship with her father, and possibly fall in love.

Lacey Chabert stars in Hallmark’s adaptation of Melissa de la Cruz’s _Pride, Prejudice and Mistletoe_. The story follows financial investor Darcy Fitzwilliam who returns to her hometown for Christmas and helps her mother throw a charity auction, but is forced to work with her former high school rival Luke Bennet who her mother has hired to help plan the event. Unfortunately the writers do a rather poor job at adapting the novel (though to be fair the novel has its own set of problems), and the performances (even Chabert’s) are pretty weak. Also, the sets look cheap and the heartfelt moments are underwhelming. A bland and forgettable film, _Pride, Prejudice and Mistletoe_ is lacking in both the Jane Austen and Christmas spirits.
