This is crazy. This is stupid. This is love.
Cal Weaver is living the American dream. He has a good job, a beautiful house, great children and a beautiful wife, named Emily. Cal's seemingly perfect life unravels, however, when he learns that Emily has been unfaithful and wants a divorce. Over 40 and suddenly single, Cal is adrift in the fickle world of dating. Enter, Jacob Palmer, a self-styled player who takes Cal under his wing and teaches him how to be a hit with the ladies.

Threw me a curveball that I actually wasn't expecting.
Great movie! Begins slow, but when get pace, you´re on the edge of your seat. Great plot, and amazing acting of the main cast. Score : 9/10
When Ryan Gosling and Emma Stone wowed us all in LA LA LAND people commented on their on-screen chemistry that had been evident from the first time they worked together. So, I did a little research, found out they were talking about this movie and put it on my viewing list. When I looked for it, to watch tonight, it was beginning to seem rather familiar, and I discovered that I had watched it when it came out in 2011 and remembered, vaguely, enjoying it, and I did, again, tonight (when you've had a stroke everything can be like as if it is the first). Some of the things I liked the first time: discovering Steve Carell has unexpected depths as an actor, enjoying how Marisa Tomei proves the old adage, "There are no small parts, only small actors", as she brings a leading role polish to whatever role she is given. All the performances were spot on, the script was clever, witty and avoided the cliches, and, yes, there has definitely always been chemistry between Ryan and Emma. This is a superb romantic comedy and I give it a 9 out of 10.
Good movie
Not a bad romcom but it's the end that really did the trick for me. Without the last half hour it'd have been just another tasteless romcom but, with it, it's a nice movie. Around 7/10 for me : good to watch, can recommend it, but I won't watch it again in the next months
