Based on the true story of the healer Jan Mikolášec, it is a biopic that fights vehemently to justify the protagonist, clearly defend him from the accusations of a fraudster and give him a vital and emotional context that transmits empathy. For this it even invents a homosexual relationship that is fictitious and tries to humanize the character. With proper execution, it works as a eulogy rather than a biopic.

Charlatan is a Turkish toilet in Czechoslovakia: some place you've never gone before and full of pee. The true story of healer Jan Mikolášek (1889–1973), who cured hundreds of people using plant-based remedies after looking at their urine, this gets a little too slow burn intellectual at parts, but the flow of the directing and the constant stream of talent will make you glad you went.
