If he doesn't do it, who will?
The Z Warriors discover an unopenable music box and are told to open it with the Dragon Balls. The contents turn out to be a warrior named Tapion who had sealed himself inside along with a monster called Hildegarn. Goku must now perfect a new technique to defeat the evil monster.

After being slightly disappointed with the DBZ finale, I decided to give this a shot. The action is good, Tapion is barely interesting, and the plot is a mess. At the start all this trust is put in a complete stranger who shows up with a musical box saying there’s a magical warrior inside. He’s also pink and alien looking but convinces Goku he’s “as earthy as they come.” I guess no one sensed any negative energy? It still seems far fetched. The movie gets better as we learn about Tapion and Hildegarn leading up to an epic battle with the Z family. The fight was good but it felt like the focus of the film kept shifting between Tapion and Goku. I did really like the design of Hildegarn though. Not a bad a movie just kinda weak.
