The original title of the film is Xiao Cheng Zhi Chun.

Simple story of a dormant and forbidden love, this film benefits from the sociopolitical context in which it’s situated. Set in a crumbling town in post-war China, the bombed city wall is an important motif throughout that mirrors the psyche of Yu Shi's husband character. I appreciated Wei Wei's (very) restrained performance, which suggested depths that were fascinating and heartbreaking to watch.
