Synopsis

A solid American teenage sports movie. The story is quite standard: A talented underdog has to find what it takes to win. A more bad than normal bad guy is in his way. Than there is a girl, a buddy who gets injured, … well nothing new there. The performances by Lowe, Gibb and Swayze help to lift it a bit above average. Solid and uplifting.

A decent enough 80s sports flick, but it doesn't leave any real lasting impression. It goes through every sports flick trope, so there's not much excitement or suspense throughout, but it's competently made, so if you have a hunger for one of these movies it should satiate. Or if you're a fan of the actors, or grew up with it.
