Very serviceable horror-comedy that only occasionally gets too comic-book. I think it's also the only movie I've ever seen with outtakes of nude scenes in the credits.

Bitten is an interesting dark comedy about vampires. The story follows a paramedic who rescues a beaten woman who’s covered in blood and left for dead, but after nursing her back to health he discovers that she’s a vampire. The cast includes Jason Mewes, Erica Cox, and Richard Fitzpatrick, who all deliver fair performances. The story is kind of clever and has some interesting satire about relationships. However, the directing is subpar and the plot’s a bit ineffective. Though it’s a troubled film, Bitten has some smart commentary and some good laughs.

_Bitten_ never manages to strike a balance between being a serious drama about a codependent relationship with a vampire, and being a comedy. There are some truly awful music choices, any humor here falls flat, and even if i could see where this would work as a dark comedy, it shifts gears back to being deadly serious right after. I didn't realize Mewes was in this until I was already watching it; he does an okay job here, but needed a better directer to guide his performance. Erica Cox is easily the best part of the movie: her acting is good, and she keeps a steady tone throughout, despite the chaos; furthermore, she is gorgeous, and in various levels of undress herein. I would have enjoyed _Bitten_ more if it fully committed to being either a dark love story about falling in love with a woman who needs to murder people in order to live, or being a silly romantic comedy.
