Synopsis
Years after his squad was ambushed during the Gulf War, Major Ben Marco finds himself having terrible nightmares. He begins to doubt that his fellow squad-mate Sergeant Raymond Shaw, now a vice-presidential candidate, is the hero he remembers him being. As Marco's doubts deepen, Shaw's political power grows, and, when Marco finds a mysterious implant embedded in his back, the memory of what really happened begins to return.

It is Okay, but below the original in plot, emotion and acting, although the "Janet Leigh" here does more

The Manchurian Candidate (2004) is a decent enough political thriller with good actor performances and a screenplay that didn't ruin the movie its a remake of and the book both are based on. Can't ask for much more than that. I put out watching this one because I actually like the original very much but was pleasantly surprised. I still recommend the original more, but if you want a more "updated" version, this is an adequate replacement.

This explains so much. All the mass shootings. Assassinations. The CIA has had this capability for a very long time.
