Major Charles Rane has come home to war!
A Vietnam veteran, Charles Rane, returns home after years in a POW camp and is treated as a hero. He has a hard time adjusting, and things go badly. A movie about the walking dead, before that meant just flesh-eating zombies.

the obsession with revenge is so thick in this movie, you feel sick by the end of it (in a good way) a vit vet classic
A bit dull truth be told
Finally got around to watching this one of Tarantino's recommendations and found it quite worthwhile. It's not especially fast paced but everything feels like it had a purpose for being there. The action is very much of it's time so you need to watch it with that view. Tommy Lee Jones is young and still handsome, as he aged his good looks faded and were replaced by character that serves him well. William Devane's voice occasionally sounds a little like Jack Nicholson but I think he look probably limited him a little. With a slightly different face he might have been a much bigger star.Linda Haynes was great as Linda Forchet who wasn't just a pretty face. As a character Linda was complex and her dysfunctional personality really served Charles Rane's story well and allowed him to convey much of what was going on in his head with spares well measured dialogue as much as he did through what he didn't say.
With reasonable expectations, Rolling Thunder is a fine film. I enjoyed the story, the characters, and the cast. I would've liked the revenge to have taken up a bit more space, but ultimately, it was satisfying.
