Year 1936. As villages across Palestine rise against British colonial rule, Yusuf drifts between his rural home and the restless energy of Jerusalem, longing for a future beyond the growing unrest. But history is relentless. With rising numbers of Jewish immigrants escaping antisemitism in Europe and some arriving with nefarious Zionist-colonial ambitions, and the Palestinian population uniting in the largest and longest uprising against Britain’s 30-year dominion, all sides spiral towards inevitable collision in a decisive moment for the British Empire and the future of the entire region.

so the mother got paped in the end. Subtle. And a lot of historic info was put on in this film subtlety if you at least put a time and effort about the conflict, you will catch these things/hints like the factory events leading to the rising tension that was already brewing.
[IFFR '26] It can sometimes be imprecise and one-sided, portraying Arabs solely as victims of violence, not as instigators, and rendering the Jewish community invisible, practically only mentioned in conversations. But it offers a different perspective from the usual narrative, fueling reflection on how the genocide against the Palestinian people is rooted in the consequences of European colonialism and antisemitism. And within its strong historical epic character, it contains a profound look at the past as the source of present-day problems.
