Haven is a great historical drama movie, based on a true story. While Hitler and the Nazis were persecuting Jews in Europe during the 1930s and 1940s, many Jews attempted to flee to America. Sadly, the vast majority were denied visas by the U.S. State Department. Millions of Jews were left in Europe to be killed by the Nazis. Finally, in 1944, the U.S. president authorized 1,000 Jews to come to the United States for asylum. This movie tells the story of Ruth Gruber, who traveled to Europe during wartime, to accompany these 1,000 refugees to a safe haven. This is an excellent historical movie, I highly recommend it. Side notes: The runtime is a bit long at 3 hours, but the movie splits well in the middle. Watch 1:28 on the first day, then 1:32 on the second day. While this story should be seen by everyone, there are some scenes of brief sexuality which may not be appropriate for kids or teens.
