Overall I liked it even though you pretty much will guess the entire plot of the movie in just the first few minutes. My biggest issue was stupidity (a pet peeve in horror movies for me), which never failed to bring me out of the film. I'm no longer enthralled by the story and "living it" in my head, instead I'm just aware that I am watching a movie.
- This girl had a million ways to get away. - She always chose the _absolute worst_ hiding spots. - He _never_ looked there. - The friend just sitting at the toilet behind the glass the whole time unnoticed when they were "done" and got out of the shower?? - The friend didn't call the police?? - You have a gun and you see the experiments, what do you do? Well obviously you turn your back to the crazy guy and start yelling at a door completely oblivious to what's happening behind you. - She could obviously just squeeze herself under that door, but okay now I'm being nitpicky... - Her friend has been obsessing over billionaires this whole time, aren't you the least bit suspicious how he got free and insists on getting the evidence first instead of getting out? - Her friend really believes that guy without some insurance first???
Cool original idea with a basic horror outline. Acting was amazing but the actors deserved better writing
I don't understand all the low ratings on IMDb. Seems like most people nowadays are generally depressed and dissatisfied with everything, and nothing is good enough for them. In this movie (indeed) there weren't too many unique or new twists. I would call it a typical horror movie, but not a bad one. It was entertaining and suspenseful. It wasn't boring at all, and the ending was satisfying too. If there were a sequel to this, I would probably watch it. Just an example for that why this movie is worth watching: Why are people still interested in Halloween 23, Texas Chainsaw Massacre reboot 12 or Scream 9? Are those movies very new? Honestly: Do those sequels contain anything new? No! People watch them, because they're entertaining and suspenseful. In my opinion "Invasive" was at least a new story, not the 25th sequel of something, so it was still better than the latest sequel of something we've seen a million times.
