This movie is extremely long-winded and loses all momentum quickly. The demon looks completely fake, which ruins any possible sense of fear or suspense. The story is poorly structured and incoherent, often jumping from one idea to another without any logic. By the end, nothing makes sense and the entire film feels like a waste of time.
Objectively it's at most a 6/10 movie, as the narration is a bit slow and also confused at times. Subjectively it can resonate a lot with you if you're an emotionally avoidant person who masks all his or her feelings of pain and loneliness with a "can do" attitude.
If you are looking for yet another stupid body horror you probably won’t enjoy this movie. It’s a complex tale where we can interpret “control” in many ways - social media influence, self help, cultural conformity, material wealth, seen through a lens of demonic possession, addiction, mental illness, or simply anxieties around modern living. Well shot, well acted with a fresh narrative, and the last act is exceptionally good. Well worth a watch. (7 stars + 1 to counter negative reviews which may not be related to movie critique)
Had so much potential! The lead actress ruined the whole thing. Her acting skills couldn't keep up with the movie .Visuals were good though.
