[Berlinale '25] Sébastien Betbeder's latest film constantly straddles the line between genres and different worlds, highlighting contrasts. It is a comedy-drama that feels comfortable in the middle, starring a nonconformist character who has made his way outside his family, but who needs to return for a final farewell. In the Jura Mountains, creating a first part that reflects maladjustment, the director uses formal resources that are close to the humanist westerns of the early seventies, while adopting a more documentary tone in the part in Greenland, the search for absolute serenity that has been yearned for throughout a lifetime.
