Sometimes What You're Looking For Is Right Where You Left It.
New York fashion designer Melanie Carmichael suddenly finds herself engaged to the city's most eligible bachelor. But her past holds many secrets—including Jake, the redneck husband she married in high school, who refuses to divorce her. Bound and determined to end their contentious relationship once and for all, Melanie sneaks back home to Alabama to confront her past.

So she rejected the truly PERFECT guy on THEIR WEDDING DAY, all to go be with some bratty manchild who never supported her, treated her like poop, showed her zero respect, and refused to ever listen to her. All under the misguided guise of “we have history together, so it must be true love.” Right. Okay. That’s crazy. Worst part is: manchild never even fought for her; she was chasing him! Please. Hell no.
Mediocre. Formulaic. Appalling Lost Cause nods. Would not watch again.
One of those movies I don't mind watching when it's on TV. I like the story and the relationship Melanie has with everyone in her hometown.
Standard pattern, so nothing groundbreaking. Some jokes from the southern USA and... that's it.
I know so many people that are obsessed with this movie, so I thought that I would check it out. Yes, we are probably seeing Reese Witherspoon at the height of her cuteness. Josh Lucas is actually the best thing about the movie - I recently read that he resented the movie and didn't want to become typecast in that role. Anyway, its a pretty good movie - I have to admit that I don't see why people go crazy for it. follow me at https://IHATEBadMovies.com or facebook IHATEBadMovies
