The ultra hard contrast and grey on grey palette is painfully dated, but the rest of the movie is absolutely amazing. The horrors of war have barely ended, now the horrors of post war tensions of previous yet still armed combatants, everyone is horribly and irreversibly damaged by the war in either body or mind, the horrific ugliness of mankind shows it's arse... While manually clearing land mines from the war one by one. And then some philosophical existential fucking cosmic horrors on top.
