Yes, from today's point of view it looks dated, even cheap at times. The CGI can't cover the fact that it was made in the mid 1990s. There is no way around that. But let that dissuade you from watching this and you miss out on one of the best TV (not only scifi) shows ever put on TV.

This series set the standard for long story-arcs in sci-fi series. You can't watch it in any way but sequentially. The character development and story-telling reward the viewer in ways that subsequent sci-fi productions have struggled to achieve. I recently invested in the blu-ray remastered edition, having had the original DVD box-set. The remastering isn't perfect; there are strange switches between 16:9 and 4:3, together with banners (presumably for advert breaks) left in. But. The CGI is vastly improved, with very few of the artefacts and tearing which marred the previous release. If you like owning, rather than streaming, then I recommend this. Babylon 5 is an essential for any science fiction fan.

My all-time favorite Sci-Fi Series. It still holds up today. It is so good; in fact; that it has never been duplicated. It stands on its own in a sea of #CopyAndPaste series.
