Im 26. Jahrhundert schlägt sich die Crew des Raumfrachters Serenity vorwiegend mit Schmuggelaufträgen durch den Weltraum. Aliens wurden bisher keine entdeckt, aber Captain Malcolm 'Mal' Reynolds, ein ehemaliger Kämpfer im verlorenen Bürgerkrieg gegen die jetzt allgegenwärtige Allianz, hat trotzdem laufend Ärger – speziell, nachdem er den jungen Arzt Simon und seine Schwester River an Bord nimmt. Jene ist das geflohene "Produkt" von Experimenten der Allianz und wird von dieser überall gesucht.

I'm not a sci-fi fan, but really enjoy this story. Especially the play of Nathan Fillion. Great Show!
Well, this show certainly has its fans. Personally I think it is one of the worst sci-fi shows I have watched in a long time.
Gritty science fiction and fun fast-paced cowboy stories blended with an excellent ensemble, Fun dialogue and surprising twists that never lost it focus and could tell both fun and dramatic stories. It was a series with the heart in the right place and I loved the effects. Sadly, Fox fucked up the episodic order and never gave it a chance. Deserves all the attention it has gotten.
