Too soon to say this is actually better than MotherLand?

Take the dullest characters from Motherland and add the most boring guy that was a Dr Who Companion and forget to write funny jokes for them.

This series doesn't receive the recognition it merits, and I believe the criticism it faces is unfair and unwarranted. The second season has improved its script, and the cast delivers its comedic timing flawlessly. Although they have typecast the wonderful Joanna Lumley, her increased presence was clearly a brilliant idea. I hope there will be more of the same, if there's a season three.
