Dark humour with some truly touching moments. Love the depth and surprising qualities of the main characters. Reminded me of Fleabag, so if you liked that you'll probably like this as well. Thomasin McKenzie is great, as are the supporting cast!
It starts off with an interesting premise, most of the characters are well written, but it quickly devolves into a default family drama. Maybe interesting if
you are dealing with loss and suicide
- but then again - it does go on a relationship and family drama bender which might not be fitting. Even though it does go on a massive tangent with different personality problems it does kind of solve most problems in the end.
Categorizing this series as a comedy is complicated, because it hides numerous reflections of dramatic elements such as personal traumas and depression. In fact, as it develops, it reveals itself more as a story about facing past wounds than strictly as a tale about rescuing depressed people from their suicide attempts. Although it sometimes loses focus and becomes unbalanced, it is able to address complex issues without losing a hopeful outlook, which in the end turns it into an interesting proposal about the need to face traumas by relying on close persons.
