Dont know why this doesnt get better ratings, ive enjoyed every episode. Those who fell for this scam should be shot.
I just finished this series & I thought it was amazingly good! I couldn’t binge it in one setting & it kept me anxious coming back each day! Look at the quality of actors, Macy, Waterston etc. Just a top notch series IMHO!
Elizabeth Holmes scamming rich folks with just a high school diploma is the wildest thing about _The Dropout_.The fact that all these incredibly accomplished and powerful men got conned, on fake blood test machine without actually seeing how it worked from the get-go, by a woman with split ends, is truly baffling to me. It’s probably so hard to make Amanda Seyfried’s hair look bad. How does a person become a billionaire when selling nothing... she sold nothing. My theory is Elizabeth Holmes couldn’t handle the failure of her invention because she was so used to succeeding. & so she felt like she had to see it through… Naveen Andrews is too charismatic to project how grotesque the Elizabeth Holmes/Sunny Balwani relationship was in real life. The age gap (Sunny was 37 when he met Elizabeth (18 at that time) and power imbalance is minimized when he and Amanda Seyfried look like two badly styled, vulnerable, hot people.
Watched it three times. Incredible and fascinating on so many levels.
Great show. Well put together, skillfully acted and compelling. I’m a sucker for the Elizabeth Holmes story because it’s such a fascinating tale of ego and charisma being a vehicle for fraud.
